This bike is not what it seems. It is in fact, Eric McKenzies 1986 team Lotto pro bike.
When picked up by the last owner, it had previously been crudely painted black, but it still couldn't hide the serial number details that identified it as Eric's bike.
The last owner, an ex pro bike rider himself, had always wanted an Eddy Merckx painted in the famous Faema colours of Eddy Merckx himself, and his wife secretly got it painted for him. It is a stunning paint job, and with the modern Campagnolo group set, it is one of the best riding bikes in the collection. However, it will, at some stage, be returned to the correct paint colour of team Lotto (yellow), a,d will be kitted out with the period correct Campagnolo Super Record group set, along with the correct wheels/handle bars/saddle etc
